Adam Tomlinson from A.T. Martial Arts in Whitby earned a first place championship medal in sparring for Canada in the Junior A Light Heavy Weight division earlier this month at the Canadian National Taekwondo tournament which was held in Vancouver, B.C.
This was a triumphant achievement after he placed 2nd in the 2012 Nationals.
Adam’s hard training paid off this year through perseverance, determination and focus to receive the gold medal standing in Canada.
Taye Williams, also from A.T. Martial Arts, took 3rd place in sparring for Canada in the Junior A Bantam division.
Taye trained very hard to achieve this medal since it was his first time stepping up in this division after earning 2nd place in the Junior B Flyweight division for Canada in 2012.
This is a tremendous accomplishment since Adam and Taye are the first in Whitby to achieve Nationals medal standing.
