Carding gives fishing expedition licence to cops

After a long period of opportunistic silence on the cops’ carding of people in non-criminal encounters, the Kathleen Wynne-led regime in Ontario made a commitment to enact regulations to standardize this repressive and unnecessary investigative and information gathering practice. Community Safety and Correctional Services Minister Yasir Naqvi expects provincial-wide regulations to be in place by fall 2015, after a wide-ranging consultation process with stakeholders.
