The Toronto Onyx Lions Club will present “Haiti, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”, as part of its monthly business networking series.

The event will feature a keynote speech by Dave Champagne, who will deliver an overview of Haiti’s history. Champagne, an expert on Haitian history, dedicated himself to the rebirth of Haiti, his native land, following the 2010 earthquake. An extensive exhibit of Haitian historical art and documents will form the backdrop for Champagne’s presentation on Haiti’s global impact and significance to the world.

Terrence Jackson, an avid student of Black history, will provide the art work and paintings, documents and miniaturized exhibit items used in this presentation. Jackson has shared his knowledge and love of history, particularly the history of Haiti, with many community groups and schools.

The presentation will be followed by Caribbean culinary delights and music.

“Haiti, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 7 p.m. at 875 Queen St. E. Admission is free.
