CHARLESTOWN: Carlisle Powell, Minister of Communication, Works, Public Utilities, Post, Physical Planning, Natural Resources and the Environment in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA), was lauded by officials of the Organization of American States (OAS) for his efforts in supporting the development of renewable energy on Nevis.

“He (Powell) has been front and centre of all the energy-related programs and initiatives that have been jointly undertaken by the OAS, in cooperation with the Government of the Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis, working through the local Nevis Island Administration,” said OAS Representative to St. Kitts & Nevis, Starret Greene, during a recent presentation at the Llewellyn Newton Disaster Management Facility in Long Point, in observation of Caribbean Energy Week.

“Minister Powell’s unwavering support for the development of renewable energy on Nevis and the leadership he has provided in this area, has won the applause of the OAS officials in our Department of Sustainable Development.
