The Victoria Mutual Building Society (VMBS) has joined forces with the Consul General of Jamaica in Toronto to host a Jamaica 50 agency outreach for Jamaicans living in Canada. The outreach, which is scheduled for Monday, June 11 at the Jamaican Canadian Association, brings to Jamaicans, the services of several key agencies including the Registrar General’s Department, National Land Agency, the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency and Victoria Mutual.

Individuals will be able to receive responses to their questions and concerns, process passport applications, including new and renewals, correct errors on Birth, Deaths and Marriage Certificates, as well as conduct land searches for properties in Jamaica, all for a minimal fee.

The Jamaica Agency Outreach, which is being held in commemoration of Jamaica’s 50th anniversary, will have private consultations between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and a two-hour public forum, commencing at 6 p.m. Registration opens at 2:30 p.m. and those attending are encouraged to take cash or money order, payable to the Consulate General of Jamaica to complete their transactions.

Participants will benefit from several presentations, including one from The Victoria Mutual Building Society, one of the leading building societies in Jamaica, which will offer expert financial advice on savings, investments and real estate solutions.

“Victoria Mutual has partnered with the Consul General of Jamaica on several community outreach activities and is again delighted to be the lead sponsor of this event,” said Denise Sinclair, VMBS’s Chief Representative Officer in Canada. “As we celebrate Jamaica’s 50th Anniversary of Independence, this initiative gives Victoria Mutual a unique opportunity to highlight our VM Win 50 Savings Promotion and our special 6.58% Foreign Currency Mortgage offering, which ends August 31, 2012.”
