Dear Mr. Auguste:
I read your comment on Toronto policing (Share, May 5, 2016) and I agree completely with your views. Back in 1972-1975 I spoke to the Toronto police on five occasions, attempting to alter how they were treating male members of the Black community. In the end I concluded that my comments had fallen on deaf ears, because absolutely nothing had changed.
Belatedly my comments were recognized when I was honoured by the Toronto police, together with two of my colleagues, in the February 04, 2010 issue of Share.
So I hope that your incisive remarks meet with the actionable success that it deserves.
Dr. Tom Massiah
