As part of the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of Independence, The High Commission and The Consulate General of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago are pleased to announce that they are planning to highlight the achievements of the Trinidad and Tobago Diaspora in Canada.

A project is currently in progress which will feature distinguished members of the Trinidad and Tobago community throughout Canada who have achieved great success in their chosen fields and professions, and who have made the Trinidad and Tobago community proud. It will be a testament to the many significant contributions of the Trinidad and Tobago community to Canadian professionals, business, politics, law, agriculture, medicine, education, media, literature, sports and community life.

Nominations are invited for the inclusion of distinguished individuals in this project. Nominees’ notable single achievement, achievements over a period of years, or achievements over their lifetime will be key factors in their consideration.

Nominees must be members of the Trinidad and Tobago community in Canada who have excelled in their field of expertise and/or endeavours, which may include: persons born in Trinidad and Tobago who have migrated to Canada, persons of Trinidad and Tobago descent and persons who are now deceased.

Nominations are now being sourced which should include the person’s mailing address, telephone number and email address as well as a detailed resume listing the nominee’s academic and/or business/professional achievements, community involvement and/or community service, and any awards and/or recognition previously received. If the nominee is deceased, information on the nearest living relative should be included on the attached form. Please remember to submit a photograph (5”x7”) of the nominee (this photo can be “family oriented” one that shows the nominee in his/her area of prominence).

Please submit your nominations by email to congen@ttcgtoronto.gov.tt or ottawa@ttmissions.com or by regular mail to The High Commission of Trinidad and Tobago, 200 First Avenue, Ottawa, ON K1S 2G6, attention Research & Special Projects by May 18th, 2012.

Each nominee will be considered for inclusion in our project, and we look forward to receiving nominations from the diverse and multi-talented Trinidadian and Tobagonian community throughout Canada.
