The Excelsior School Alumni Association (ESSA), Toronto Chapter, presents its 4th annual fundraising “Laaf N Nyam” Brunch on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the Woodbridge Banquet Hall, 4000 Steeles Avenue, Woodbridge, Ontario.
The brunch features a feast of Jamaican fare including Ackee & Saltfish, Jerk Chicken and Escoveitched Fish.
Headlining the comedy segment is Jamaica’s first lady of comedy, Joan Andrea Hutchinson, as well as Toronto’s funniest “Trini” comedian, Marc Trinidad.
Proceeds from this year’s event are earmarked for a much needed Breakfast Program at Excelsior High which serves a large cross section of Kingston, Jamaica’s population including many marginalized communities.
ESSA President, Hurb Jackson Kumaasi said: “The breakfast feeding program is an urgent requirement at Excelsior High as teachers have identified lack of adequate nutrition as one of the barriers they face in delivering a quality education”.
Fundraising Chair, Maxine Wright, who has spearheaded the annual event for the past three years said this year’s Laaf N Nyam has strategically upped the entertainment package offered as her group seeks to attract a wider audience than the ESSA membership group.
Tickets for the “Laaf N Nyam” event are available by calling ESSA ticket sales at 416-730-4566 or emailing: email@example.com.
