For exactly half of her 90 years, Canada has been Geraldine Rodney’s home.
She celebrated the milestone last Sunday with relatives and friends at the West Toronto Church of God, which she joined a few years after migrating from Jamaica in 1970.
“This church has been like her second home,” said her son, Evan Davis. “She’s a very religious person.”
Born and raised in Tower Hill in the parish of St. Andrew, Rodney has two other children – Lillian Lewis, who attended the celebration and Pixley Morris, who is in Jamaica.
She also has 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
