Black Diabetes Expo
The Canadian Diabetes Association will conduct a Black Diabetes Expo on Saturday, April 10 at the Jamaican Canadian Association’s center, 995 Arrow Road, North York, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event will feature speakers, exhibitors and free glucose testing. Admission is free and a light lunch will be provided. Registrants will be eligible to win a one-night stay for two at the Courtyard by Mariott Downtown Toronto hotel.

The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Walk, a family-oriented event that combines fundraising with fun and community spirit, will be held on Sunday, April 18 to raise funds and awareness for MS. Participants can choose from varying route lengths and a wheelchair-accessible option is also available.

The “Hope, Health, and Humour Symposium” will be held on Saturday, May 15 at the Durham College/University of Ontario Institute of Technology Campus (UOIT), UOIT Business/IT Building, 2000 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The symposium is being held to raise awareness of the importance of mental, physical and emotional health. All are welcome to attend.
The event will include various displays, workshops, refreshment breaks and lunch, “swag/goody bags” for participants, and more. Canadian actor/comedian/writer Neil Crone will be the keynote speaker. Eli Bay, President of the Relaxation Response Institute, will be the closing speaker.
Admission to the symposium is $25 (fee includes parking, refreshments, lunch and participant swag bags). Registration is required and seating is limited. Parties who register by Monday, April 12 will be eligible to win prizes. Please RSVP to confirm registration by Sunday, April 26.
