The Jamaican Canadian Association (JCA), under the patronage of the High Commissioner to Canada, Sheila Sealy Monteith, will mark both its 49th anniversary and Jamaica’s independence with a gala affair.
Themed “The Journey Continues”, the event is an occasion to reflect on the achievements of Jamaica and the JCA.
“We have come this far not by chance or luck but because we have toiled, we have struggled and continue to do so for the fulfillment of our people and our nation,” said Audrey Campbell, the organization’s president.
The event will be hosted by Danae Peart of CHRY-FM, and will feature a keynote speech by Justice Michael Tulloch, Superior Court Judge for Ontario.
Entertainment will consist of performances by Arsenals Ska Band, DJ Funky and “Little Michael Jackson.”
The Jamaican Canadian Association’s 49th annual independence gala will be held on Saturday, August 6 at 7 p.m. at the Jamaican Canadian Centre, 995 Arrow Road.
